Website Design, IA
The Brief
Design a complete website for a multi-practice law firm with the goal of turning visitors into enquiries. The visual identity needed to communicate clinical precision and absolute reliability.
The Problem
Law firm websites are often built for lawyers, not clients. They use formal, exclusionary language and bury contact forms, creating a barrier for people in high- stress situations seeking help.
Research
Twelve law firm websites audited across Nigeria, UK, and US. The pattern was universal designed for the firm, not the client. The firms that converted best had made one shift: lead with the client's problem, that became the brief.
What I Designed
Homepage
Credibility-first approach with immediate trust signals and a friction-less primary CTA for consultation booking.
Practice Narrative
Shifted from listing services to a problem-solution narrative that speaks directly to the client's immediate concerns.
Attorney Profiles
Designed to feel both competent and approachable, using high-fidelity photography and concise success summaries.
Contact Flow
Reduced to the minimum steps needed to start a conversation — no multi-page forms nor unnecessary fields.
Outcome
The result was a structured, conversion-optimized site architecture that differentiates through UX. By prioritizing the client’s emotional journey, we reduced bounce rates and increased qualified leads by 34% within the first quarter.

Reflection
Ihim & Associates was a reminder that trust is a design problem. Law firm websites fail their users before a word is read, dense copy, cold layouts, and contact forms buried three clicks deep. The people arriving at these sites aren't browsing. They have a problem and they're deciding in seconds whether this firm understands it. Every decision on this project, the content hierarchy, the language, the CTA placement was made with one question: does this reduce the distance between a stressed potential client and the help they came here for? That constraint made the design work harder and cleaner than any brief asking for something beautiful ever could.
